1. Describe yourself in 3 words:

SOI: Ambitious, Focused, Fashion obsessed!

2. What is the biggest challenge of owning and operating a business?

SOI: Time management. Its been a crazy ride! We are getting better and better, but knowing when to slow down and take time for yourself can be very difficult when your entire life is wrapped around your business. 

3. What do you attribute your success to?

SOI: Passion, hard work and the support of our community. 

4. Who is your biggest role model and why?

SOI: Our biggest role models are our moms! They are both amazing successful boss babes who have taught us from day 1 that you can do anything you set your mind to. 
5. What is the best piece of advice you've been given?

SOI: You can't do everything. In the past few months we have been able to take a step back and hire on an amazing team of people who have stepped up and been able to do the things we just weren't able to. Now we can concentrate on the parts of the business that we excel at and it's really been amazing.  

6. What is something you wish you could go back and tell your younger self?

SOI: CHILL OUT! We wrote a blog post on this exact topic and "Don't be so hard on yourself" really resonated with us. 

7. What advice would you give young aspiring female entrepreneurs?

SOI: No matter what, stay authentic. It can be easy to get lost in the idea of "success" but as long as you stay true to yourself and to your passion you will always end up where you are meant to be!

8. Where is your favourite place to go to relax or have some down time amidst your busy day-to day #girlboss lives?

SOI: We love a good bootcamp or spin class and on Saturdays having a good bottle of wine with our friends is a go to.

10. If you could have a dinner party with any 5 people in the world, dead or alive who would be at your party? 

SOI: We love to mix it up so we would have to say…

1. Describe yourself in 3 words:

KM: Ambitious, Creative, Girly

2. What is the biggest challenge of owning and operating a business?

KM: Turning it off, it becomes your life, I have a difficult time disconnecting/thinking/working on my company.

3. What do you attribute your success to?

KM: I’ve been very determined to make this work amidst the uncertainty that has come along with it, so persistence and hard work I would say would be the main two but also believing in my brand and that I could make this all happen.

4. Who is your biggest role model and why?

KM: My mom, 100%. She always encouraged me to follow my heart, and instilled the belief I mentioned above that if someone can do something, why not me...

5. What is the best piece of advice you've been given?

KM: When I graduated from Ryerson, I interviewed at a very sought after position within the fashion industry. Basically the role that every girl in my program aspired to fall into after university. Mid way through my third interview the woman who ran the department, for some reason broke down in tears and shared with me that she saw herself in me and shared that there were things in life I would surely have to give up in order to succeed within the company, and if she had a choice to do it all over again, she would have chosen a different path. Which inevitably, lead me on the path to where I am today, and I am grateful for that. Bottom line it’s important to follow your passion but also, do not compromise what is most valuable to you outside of your professional life.

6. What is something you wish you could go back and tell your younger self?

KM: Not that I didn’t fully enjoy my younger years (and oh I did!!!), but I would say that there’s no rush to “grow up”. Enjoy the ride….

7. What advice would you give young aspiring female entrepreneurs?

KM: If you’re passionate and confident in an idea, concept, design, whatever that might be, don’t let other people, lost opportunities, or losses take you off track. There have been countless moments where I doubt myself and wonder if it’s all worth it, and it’s usually shortly thereafter that something great happens and I am rewarded for believing in what I do.

8. Where is your favourite place to go to relax or have some down time amidst your busy day-to day #girlboss life?

KM: Since I work from home (which I love), I really embrace travel, summertime on our deck, my parents pool and the odd lake weekend.

9. What's your favourite quote?

KM: Richard Branson, Jennifer Lopez, Antoni Gaudi, Amber Fillerup Clark, Mindy Kaling

OA: Insanely honest. Out of the box and not willing to get back in. Cheering for those who have lost their ability to cheer for themselves.

2. What is the biggest challenge of owning and operating a business?

OA: Biggest challenge is remaining calm through the ebbs and flows.

3. What do you attribute your success to?

OA: I get up every morning smiling and knowing I have the choice to decide what I do in this world. I have many angels around me. I am lucky to live an adventurous life on this earth.

4. Who is your biggest role model and why?

OA: My father. He came from nothing and built his own and didn’t brag about it and he didn’t apologize for the things he knew about himself that others would never know.

5. What is the best piece of advice you've been given?

OA: There are people all over the world who love you even though you don’t see them. Hollywood will never give me the real love my own family will.

6. What is something you wish you could go back and tell your younger self?

OA: Don’t get upset about rejection something better is around the corner.  Keep shining your weak spots and enjoy every minute of it.  Your vulnerability will be your greatest asset.

7. What advice would you give young aspiring female entrepreneurs?

OA: You know your heart. You know your passion. Surround yourself with people who tell you there is a way and remove yourself from the negative and learn from it.

8. Where is your favourite place to go to relax or have some down time amidst your busy day-to day #girlboss life?

OA: On my horse!!!! I ride because it is the only place where I am completely one with the horse and nature. I am free and can fly. I also work on the details of riding dressage which helps me to be a better business owner.

OA: My own quote…. “The chicken will fly when she is ready because she can.”

OA: Bella Tarr, Neil Minuk, Werner Herzog, One of the Cohen Brothers and the lead singer of Journey.

1. Describe yourself in 3 words

GM: Student, projector, soul-seeker

2. What is the biggest challenge of owning and operating a business?
GM: I think the biggest challenge is understanding when to work in your business and when to work on your business. These are two very different concepts that often get overlooked. Finding a suitable balance between the two has helped me not only to make what I do better, but also create a future for my company. Working in my business is what generates income, strengthens my team and creates culture, while working on my business allows me to see higher level issues and implement changes or initiatives to propel the business forward. 

3. What do you attribute your success to?

GM: I would attribute the success I’ve had so far to the fact that I listen to my gut instinct and intuition above all else. I’ve also set my personal vision around the ideas of freedom, legacy, and leaving a positive impact on the world. Anything I’m doing has to contribute to those overarching goals without compromise.

4. Who is your biggest role model and why?

GM: Oprah - She is continuously learning and growing herself. She provides a platform to amazing people doing good in the world and finds ways to give back while remaining who she is. 

5. What is the best piece of advice you've been given?

GM: Life is a journey, we never really arrive. Every time you feel like you need to be at a certain place by a certain age, or being doing something that society says you need to to, remember that everyone is on their own journey.

6. What is something you wish you could go back and tell your younger self?

GM: Stop caring about what other people think about you. Be true to you and the right people and opportunities will come to you.

7. What advice would you give young aspiring female entrepreneurs?

GM: Business is full of stress and anxiety. Starting a business will test you in ways mentally and physically that you won’t experience anywhere else. Above all else, the key is to preserver and find little wins every day. It may seem like incremental growth at the time, but looking back at months or years you will have made real progress and real growth. Also, have fun! You need to be enjoying what you do and the people you surround yourself with on a daily basis. 

8. Where is your favourite place to go to relax or have some down time amidst your busy day-to day #girlboss life?

GM: Nature is my oasis. When I need to disconnect/reconnect I always head to a cabin in the woods or go for a hike. Even just putting my feet on the earth makes all the difference.

CE: Balance with family life and work life.

CE: The women of MyFituals , the MyFituals community of supporters and followers. Word of mouth is everything!

4. Who is your biggest role model and why?

My husband, CEO of MPGSport Ash Modha. He never gives up! Longevity in the game 🙌

5. What is the best piece of advice you've been given?

Keep it simple.

6. What is something you wish you could go back and tell your younger self?

Everything is going to be alright so, relax and enjoy the ride.

7. What advice would you give young aspiring female entrepreneurs?

We don’t get to choose when things will fall into place and it is not always fun but stay focused, success will follow. Don’t chase the money follow your passion.

Dinner with my fam at Pizzeria Gusto or Wasabi on Broadway. I am a bit of a hermit so I love to be home. ❤️

Ambitious, loyal, compassionate

2. What is the biggest challenge of owning and operating a business?

Managing people and expectations. And growing a thick skin, you have to really put yourself out there as a business owner and being that vulnerable is hard!

3. What do you attribute your success to?

There is no short cut, it takes a lot of long hours, dedication and hard work. I think we’re achieving success (does anyone actually “achieve” it?) because we are constantly trying to improve, grow and learn. We surround ourselves with amazing people who believe that as well, which means we’re up for any opportunity or challenge that comes our way.

4. Who is your biggest role model and why?

This is a hard one, there are so many amazing entrepreneurial role models out there. Martha Stewart is up there for me, she’s done such an amazing job of growing a business that extends across so many platforms. Her wedding magazine was my favourite when I was in the wedding industry, I have a deep respect for the photography and photo styling that goes into that publication!

5. What is the best piece of advice you've been given?

Hire people to do the stuff that everyone can do so that you can focus on what only you can do.

6. What is something you wish you could go back and tell your younger self?

All of your unpaid overtime hours will pay off one day.

7. What advice would you give young aspiring female entrepreneurs?

Surround yourself with a support system who are there for you, you’re going to need them! For me, my support system is my family.

8. Where is your favourite place to go to relax or have some down time amidst your busy day-to day #girlboss life?

Ten Spa, Thermea, and walking around HomeSense :)

9. What's your favourite quote?

You can thank Brené Brown for the popularity of this one! I love it.

2. What is the biggest challenge of owning and operating a business?

IA: Growing it and then keeping it.

3. What do you attribute your success to?

IA: Not giving up.

4. Who is your biggest role model and why?

IA: My mom, she died at 58, but in that time raised 4 great kids and went to work everyday ( 7 days a week) at our family grocery store. She was ahead of her time and blended work and family by merging the two into one.

IA: Once you have made a deal or got what you needed ‘Stop talking’

6. What is something you wish you could go back and tell your younger self?
IA: I still feel like my younger self but I think it would be and is to ‘stay authentic to yourself’

IA: Follow your dream, listen to the naysayers ( sometime there is a nugget in there )but then go make YOUR mistakes; don’t sweat your mistakes and don’t give up.

IA: Yoga Public.
